ET&N 91 Neos and Kainos
I think Greek is a wonderful language - so many nuances of word meanings, often with deeper significance than English typically conveys. This issue of ET&N looks at two words for “new” - neos and kainos.

WELL BEING A GREEK WOULD MAKE ME PROUD OF MY LANGUAGE.
AS FAR AS THE WORD (KAINOS), TO ME MEANS EMPTY.
BUT THE WORD (KAINH DIATHIKI) MEANS (NEW TESTAMENT).
SO I WISH YOU ALL A HAPPY NEW YEAR FULL OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Michael was the man I spent a wonderful day with when I was in Greece this summer, and it’s good to see he’s reading!
Apparently the meaning of “kainos” has changed from biblical (Koine) Greek to modern Greek, and I’m glad Michael pointed that out.

I’m learning Greek; an infant at at in fact! As Michael has mentioned, there’s so much difference in this wonderful language between the first century and now. It is so much easier now to read and write the language. I have this little bit to offer though: Please give the pronunciation of Greek words for example the following word you have used paliggenesia for regeneration which in my Greek Bible reads παλιγγεnεσιας would appear thus in English: paliggenesias and pronounced as palinghenesias (Michael might correct me on that). The article is good though. Thanks.

Well brother Thomas i hope you dont mind me adressing you as a brother, thats how i feel about all the peole that loves our lord JESUS. Thomas to answer your question regarding the words KAINH DIATHIKI yes you are wright =NEW TESTAMENT. Now the word PALIGGENESIA is only mentioned two times in the Bible MATH.19:28 TITUS 3:5 IT mean born again,regenaration,become someone new. PALI=AGAIN GENNESI =TO BE BORN, Thomas this is a wonderful word. God bless you all.
